Looking up at the clock tower of the the church of St Mary The Crowned on the island of Gibraltar this summer, it had the most annoying chime we had ever heard before. Despite the fact that drivers drive on the Spanish side of the roads, the island is in fact part of the United Kingdom and all the signage wouldn't look out of place in London. Unfortunately we arrived there on a Sunday, so all the shops were shut, the main town reminded me a bit of Brighton but more humid. The island is famous for the rock which dominates the island, and has a colony of Barbary Macaques, due to their growing numbers and their "being a problem" for residence many have now been shipped over and now reside in Blair Drummond Safari Park here in Scotland.
