I did not realise that the cathedral was quite so compacted. Maybe it is all the scaffolding around it that gives this impression. Hopefully all the restoration gives such an historic and fine piece of architecture renewed strength.
@ Gemma: It could be my composition with the 50mm since it isn't a wide angle and I needed to frame most of what I could with it, but the bonus is that it is a fast lens and I wouldn't of got the same results from the kit lens in these conditions ( not that I had it with me, I did take it this year with me on holiday, but I still prefer the faster 50 mm ). I do agree though that I hope the restoration and cleaning of the Cathedral does it justice.
@Jeanna: Yes I think so too, tried colour but I thought it looked better in black and white especially since it was cloudy and despite being still very warm it was dull lighting wise.
@ NatureFootstep: I know, it always the way isn't it like some crane in the way or something. Still its okay that they are restoring it, hope it is nice a clean afterwards.

What a beautiful shot.
Visiting from BLACK AND WHITE WEEKEND.
FRANKLY MY DEAR
It looks great in black and white with the scaffolding. Makes for a more interesting photo. That means renovations and that's a good thing.
Very good photo, telling it's renovation story....
Magnificent!

That is some awesome architecture! Wow! I'm glad they are fixing it up and caring for it.
You make the scaffolding look very interesting. It all combines with the czthedral to make a work of art.
happens a lot. As soon as I want to share some images from castles or anything you don´t see the building as they are working all over it :(
