This looks like an amazing event to watch! Thanks for taking photo of it.
Your welcome, it was pretty amazing and very patriotic ( about time).
Terrific capture, Jane! And it does indeed look like an amazing event to watch. Thanks for sharing! Have a great week!
Sylvia
Thanks Sylvia, I had a great time and its nice to do something different. We go into to Edinburgh by the train too, we didn't get back home until after midnight.
Look at all those different colored kilts! Pretty neat!
What a beautiful photo...I love all the color. I so enjoy patriotic events.
I saw this once, many years ago about 1978, I think. Until then, I wouldn't have said I was a fan, but I was bowled over by seeing it there, with such a wonderful backdrop.
I agree that it is more of a "man's thing", but it was a beautiful specticle and yes Edinburgh is a wonderful old city and perfect for the celebration. Yes all the colours and they were great musicians too, its strange to see a brigadeer [sic] with an electric guitar.
When the EMT came to Sydney for the first time about five years ago, I went along. Wow was that a night to remember! I have watched it every January for years and years, but to see it IRL was an absolute joy. I thank you for rekindling the memories.
