Scenic Sunday: Frozen Trees
Taken on December 21st, and one of our coldest days on record at minus 13 degrees below. Naturally I didn't stay out long, however, not only were the trees covered in ice and snow but they were also covered in hoar frost. I am surprised they are still living after this winter.

I think it looks very pretty. Hoar frost is beautiful, especially close up. ;)
Jane, wonderful shots of the hoarfrost! I love such images and your are the best I've seen in some time. I'm glad I found your as I wandered here from Scenic Sunday! I know I'll be back..you do nice work.
Great catches. It always amazes me how the trees and plants can go through so much ice and cold and still come back beautifully.
@ EG Wow:I did a few macro shots on the trees in our front garden, they were all bent over from the weight of the ice. I think its very pretty too, especially with the white against that blue sky, but I am glad its all gone now.
@John: Thanks, that's very kind of you to say that:D
@Lorac: I know, its so cold and frost tends to kill everything, but these will be thriving in a few months time. So its amazing that they survive such temperatures.
@ Walk in NY: Great black and white shot there on your site, thanks for dropping by:)
Beautiful Jane. Love the white frost against the blue sky.
Year, plants are so tough! These photos are just breathtaking! So beautiful that you were absolutely worth going out and photographing.
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day.
