Jane, this shot is better in the colour version where it has the quality of a colour slide. Doesn't quite work in mono.
Welcome to the theme - please keep participating.
I agree with Aileni, in converting it has left a sepia coloured area in the centre on the pathway. I've never been to Glasgow.
Glasgow :-) a town i visited for the first time this summer, and such a beautiful town even in black and white, or in colours.
Have a nice day.
Scotland, Glasgow... Lovely place to live. Beautiful photo.
Robert.
I love Glasgow. That street seems so full of life, just like an ancient picture (I mean the black and white) I think it works well, due to the ancient building in perspective.
The perspective adds to the atmosphere.
Never been to Glasgow, but sure like to. It suit black and white :)
this is a beautiful shot but i think it looks more striking n alive in color. i will come back to this post later to read abt the photoshop u did here
Thanks everyone:) yes the original is probably better and my camera seems to do well with colours, as to the sepia tone that is due to the addition of solorize filter. I shall definitely continue to participate in the meme though.
nice shadows! I like it in black and white as much as in colour.
Would love to visit Glasgow someday...thanks so much for sharing your process and the image.
It was very nice of you to explain what you have done - I need to learn a bit more. Then one can discuss colours vs. monochrome.
Very nice shot, either way.
The monochrome is an interesting shot, but I really love the color version, but both are great shadow shots!
Happy SSS!
Sylvia
Great place to be but would like to visit the place when I can see the colors and vibrant life of the city.
Always appreciate your dropping by and announcing your presence.
Hi, Jane! I love how the shadow of the lamp that's off the frame creates a quirky connect/disconnect with the actual lamp at the end of it. Hee hee.
Thanks for your visit. Warm greetings from Florida.
Thankyou Danton and Hannah, your welcome:) I hope to visit Glasgow again to take some more shots.
I like your B&W picture but your color picture stole my heart! what a beautiful place!
Great Shots!
Here is "My Monochrome♥"<--Hope you like it☺
Happy☺Monochrome☺Day!
Same same but different. Cool with monochromes but having colour always makes your work lively.
Both have their characters. Awesome shot.
Happy SS
like it in monochrome best ...nice shot - got to Glasgow for the first time this summer and absolutely loved it!!
I love the original with its shadow!
My husband used to travel to Glasglow years ago on business and I always thought I'd get a chance to go.
Thanks for letting me pay a little visit.
neat
