Skywatch Friday: Campanile Di San Marco, Venice [2015]

DSC_1221.jpg

Photograph of the campanile ( bell-tower) of San Marco in Venice in 2015, you can make out that there are people up there in the belfry ( must of been wearing earplugs as those bells are loud when they ring out ) taking in the view of the beautiful city.

several yeas now since I visited Venice. Don´t remember seeing this bell-tower. A nice one.

@NatureFootstep: Wow I am amazed as this tower is pretty distinctive and its bell is deep and is pretty much heard across the city at most times amongst the others. This tower isn't the original though, although the same design, the original toppled ( killing a number of residence and tourists) in 1902 when the city suffered an earthquake, the new tower was completed the same year the Titanic sank. I think I would be too scared to go up there, but I did go on the balcony of the Basilica though a couple of years ago ( when I was still using a compact camera).
