Skywatch Friday: Brown Booby

DSCN5231

Taken as we approached the Island of St Martin ( St Maarten), some Brown Boobies were flying around the ship and diving in the wash for fish.

You were in the right place for that shot. I don't think I've ever seen this bird.

Thank you for the wonderful bird! (A first for me, even virtually ;>)..I kind of knew a booby was a bird, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen a picture of one. The sky is a beautiful blue, as I'd expect in that part of the world!.

Thanks everyone for visiting:D apparently they were named Boobies because they are rather ungainly on land, Gannets are their close cousins.

It looks quite sleek flying up there.
St Martin also looks very scenic.
