These gulls were swooping and attempting at one point to land on the balconies where we and other guests were eating their breakfast, at Venice on the ship. I used my burst shooting mode to capture them.

What a fine capture. The gulls remind me of my early childhood days in San Francisco, except that the skies I remember were foggy!
Thank you for visiting my Skywatch post.
I love the way the light is caught on the edges of their wings Jane. Just beautiful!
Such beautiful birds and even more so against such gorgeous blue skies! Terrific captures for the day, Jane! Happy SWF! Hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy!

A beautiful sky is always made more beautiful by the addition of gulls, I think.

Beautiful pictures about white gulls against the blue sky!
But we did not see the blue sky much during those 11 months in Scotland many, many years ago :)
Happy sunny weekend to you!
Thanks everyone:) your welcome Clairz, they get a lot of fog in SF but I reckon they have there fair share of some good weather skies too.
@ LauraX: Yes I liked that too, the naughty birds were after our danish.
@ Mimmu: Yes its been cold quite a bit up here of late, but we do get the occasional blue sky sometimes.

Hi there - you really don’t know how pleased I am that you call them "gulls" rather than "sea gulls" - it’s a war a wage without hope of victory!
By the way - nice pictures as well!
As a new contact, you may also like my "other blog" if you have time to visit!
