Skywatch Friday: Mt Etna, Sicily

DSCN2624

I was glad to get a clear shot of Mt. Etna when on holiday last year, as the previous occasion she has been shrouded in a haze. You can smell the sulphur from where we are standing on the breeze slightly. Her last eruption was in 2002.

Here is the shot I took in 2009 when it was hazy:

Lovely shots. That's a place I'd love to see one of these years.

Great, I know how frustrating it can be to have a mountain hide from view. I glad this time it showed itself.
Thanks for commenting on my blog.

Thanks everyone:) your welcome Martha. I was glad it wasn't as hazy this time too and funny that she has snow on her peak.

Thanks Naturegirl, I don't there is anyone that doesn't like Italy;)

That's quite the view with the green in the foreground and the snow capped peak in the back. Nice shot.

I imagine it's hazy there a LOT! How nice to see Mt. Etna without haze.
