Monochrome Weekend: Callender House, Falkirk

callender_house_bw

We visited Callender House the other day, the Mansion was handed over to the Falkirk Council in 1962 and is open daily. The Georgian Kitchens have been restored to their original appearance and food is cooked to their original recipes of the time.

This is one of my images of the house rendered in Black and White using adjustment layers in Photoshop CS4 ( Black and White and Lighter RGB Curve).

Jane,

Thanks for passing over to my blog! I came to give yours a visit as well to see what you are doing over here! I love this photograph btw; it has such a lovely/ classic feel to it that sets the mood right.

One little piece of advice to help you for your next one:
Whenever you're shooting wether a building/ landscape/ anything with a horizon you wan to make sure that your lines are 180º unless you have it tilted on purpose. If you have it titled on purpose the line that's tilted should lead the viewers eyes to a part of the composition or so...

Put yet again like I always love to share, it's your photograph do what you want with it and make as many as you can the way you want because no one will NEVER be able to do that exact shot at that exact time ever again.

@ Nature Footstep: The Park ( Callender Park) in which the house stands was the garden and now a national park.

@ Dwayne: Your welcome and thanks for returning the favour, your right of course on both counts. I sometimes forget about the straightening part and yes even if the subject is the same another photographers photo would be different because of the camera and the person. Thanks for your advice:)
